Ban on illegal sand, bajri mining

 

SAMBA | March 22, 2017: The Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda in an order issued on Wednesday has imposed ban on excavation of minor minerals like Sand, Bajri from rivers/Nallahs within periphery of 01 km of all major structures like bridges, protection bunds, local Nallahs for a period of two months.

 

The order reads that as per norms of Geology and Mining department, no extraction is allowed near the motorable and railway bridges within a distance of 500 mtrs and the order has been issued for common good as illegal mining/ extraction are detrimental to public health and safety.
