Villagers paralyse two coal mines in Talcher

Violating the prohibitory orders under section 144CrPc, hundreds of villagers of Soloda and Gopalprasad today paralysed two mega coal mines here.

 

According to police, in the morning the hundreds of villagers including women and children of soloda stopped the coal transport from Hingula mines. But at noon they along with another village people stopped the coal productions at Balaram and Hingula mines.

 

Earlier, on Tuesday night the district administration apprehending the agitation clamped prohibitory order under section 144 Cr Pc in and around Hingula mines but the villagers violated the orders today and went on paralysing the mines demanding job against their land.

 

Four platoon police force had been deployed and two executive magistrates along with senior police officials are camping on the spot.

 

Soloda villagers whose job issue has been already repeatedly figured in the meetings chaired by none other by the chief secretary and other high levels are peeved over the delay in getting jobs in lieu of their land demanding jobs in particular time limit.

 

Angul collector Anil Kumar Samal said that he held a meeting of the villagers and MCL recently where all the issues were sorted out and the MCL authority assured to speed up their job process. He appealed to the people to call off their strike as their grievances are being looked into sincerely.
