Jamshedpur | Feb 17, 2017: “Gone are the days when Fly Ash was considered and called as waste product of industry.
Fly Ash can give big earn if we use in a proper way significantly this may play vital role to save environment too,” said Dr. Asokan Pappu. He was addressing a workshop organised by Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Limited, Padampur at Chitrakoot Colony, Gamharia here on Friday.
The objective of programs was to convey a message to the users that how could Fly Ash utilize in better way by making composite panels, natural fibers and polymer as hybrid wood substitute composite materials.
The Senior Principal Scientist, Advance Material and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI) Dr. Asokan Pappu said he has done research and discovered that architects and builders are looking for alternative materials to wood, synthetic wood, plastic and concrete in construction and other engineering applications due to environmental consciousness.
Hence, industrial wastes mainly fly ash (Thermal Power plant’s coal combustion residues) with natural fibers and polymeric system were used in making hybrid composite materials. This may prove big deal and business opportunity to set up industry to produce composite materials with fly ash.
Altogether 120 enthusiast invitees carefully listened to the speaker Dr. Asokan on future use of fly ash.
Besides him Chirag Agarwal, Director, Adhunik Group, Bhalchandra Nellikwar, Plant Head, Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Limited, Prasun Kumar Chaudhuri, Principal Consultant (L&T-S&L), Vijay Kumar Singh, Kandra Police Station OC and Arvind Kumar Gamharia Police Staion OC also shared the dais. Dr. B K Prasad, Head Civil Department, NIT-Jamshedpur was also present on the occasion.
