Labourer killed in mining accident in Rajsamand

 

Udaipur | Feb 28, 2017: In a tragic incident that took place at one of the marble mines in Kelwa of Rajsamand district on Monday afternoon, a worker was killed when he was hit hard by the bucket portion of a heavy mining equipment. According to police sources, mining work was going on at RamaKrishna marble mine in Jhanjhar of Kelwa block.

 

A labourer Devilal (30) so Homa Meena was working near an earth moving equipment. Accidently while the operator was moving the bucket, it happened to hit the labourer who sustained serious injuries. He died in the hospital later during treatment. According to experts, the mining department approves a scientific plan for carrying out mining operations when the mining lease is sactioned to any firm. However, the mine owners do not care to function according to the approved plan which is the main reason behind such accidents.
