City-based Dr Narendra K Nanda, the Director (Technical) for NMDC was felicitated at the International Conference on NexGen Technologies for Mining and Fuel Industries recently.
The event, organized by CSIR – Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, was held in New Delhi and Dr Nanda was felicitated for his outstanding contribution towards the sector’s growth.
He received the award from Science Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan at the function at Vigyan Bhavan on February 15 in the presence of Dr VK Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog.
In addition, Dr Nanda chaired a technical session “Innovative Mining Technology” in which he deliberated on geo-mining conditions and alternate clean energy initiatives.
He emphasised on R&D needs to innovate new techniques, technologies and applications for clean, safe and sustainable mining and mineral conservation by adopting scientific mining processes.
