Nizamabad | Feb 14, 2017: District Joint Collector R Ravinder Reddy on Tuesday ordered Revenue, Mines and Engineering department officials to prevent illegal sand mining in Nizamabad district. He said that a few persons were transporting sand illegally on bullock carts and selling it for private works.
Reddy today conducted meeting with Revenue and Engineering officials at District Collectorate on issues concerning sand mining, land acquisition and various development schemes.
Bodhan Sub-Collector Sikta Patnaik, DRO Padmakar, Panchayat Raj SE Satyamurthy, BC Welfare officer Vimala Devi among other officials participated in the meeting.
Ravinder Reddy said that Revenue and other department officials must immediately prevent the illegal sand mining in Nizamabad as some persons were illegally transporting sand on bullock carts and tractors. He said that officials should ensure adequate supply of sand for construction of double-bedroom houses and government works. He said that VROs should be present while sand is transported and they should go along with the vehicle to avoid contractors from using the opportunity to illegally transport sand.
Tahsildars should identify the sand at patta lands and provide permissions, Collectors should take decision on patta land quarries and decide sand rates, he added. He also ordered the mining officials to provide sand stocks at Mining Corporation Stock Points for local usage. He also said that Tahsildars should procure land for newly announced residential schools at various Assembly constituencies in Nizamabad and speed up land procurement for irrigation, railway and road projects.
Reddy said that officials should not put Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme application forms in pending.
