Workers of several coal mines in Kalakote tehsil of Rajouri district on Tuesday intensified their ongoing agitation and suspended work in all the coal mines, while 392 more workers sat on 'Fast Unto Death.'
Three workers on fast for seven days were hospitalized on Tuesday, a report said.
As per reports, all coal mine workers from Kalakote including Moughla coal mine, Mehtka coal mine, Badyog coal mine and Bera Gua coal mine assembled in Moughla coal mine and held a meeting and decided not to hold protest rally towards Teryath but intensify their agitation through 'Fast Unto Death'.
All these workers unanimously decided to sit on 'Fast Unto Death' after which 392 coal mine workers entered inside Moughla coal mine and started their fast.
"We are ready to die and no one will end the fast until government shuns its carelessness and solves our issues," President of Bhartiya Kola Khan Mazdoor Union, Romesh Chander and Working President of Union Rajesh Gupta told Greater Kashmir.
They further said the careless approach of authorities can be gauged from the fact that their protest is going on for days but not even a single official from administration, except police, came to the spot.
Meanwhile 'Fast Unto Death' of 15 coal mine workers today entered its seventh consecutive day.
Meanwhile, sources said a team including DC Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and other officials of JK Minerals Department will visit the site in Moughla coal mine where workers are on 'Fast Unto Death' and hold a meeting there with an aim to solve the matter.
