The 'Fast Unto Death' of coal mine workers in Kalakote entered its sixth consecutive day on Monday while the workers have decided to stage a protest rally on Tuesday. They said the work in the coal mine will continue to remain suspended.
Reports said a meeting of all coal mine workers was on Monday held in Moughla coal mine in which hundreds of workers participated.
“During the meeting, all workers raised serious concern over the careless approach of JK Minerals Department towards their issues and problems and unanimously decided to carry forward their agitation,” a spokesman said.
As a part of agitation, the working in all coal mines of Kalakote area will remain suspended on Tuesday and workers will assemble in Moughla from where they will move towards Teryath tehsil headquarter, the spokesman said.
They said 15 workers on ‘Fast Unto Death’ at coal mine Moughla.
The protesters are demanding regularization of casual workers, raising allocation of DA, holding DPC for promotion of workers and releasing Cost of Living Allowance " COLA" which is pending for more than one decade.
