Hyderabad | Jan 05, 2017: A mining policy covering the entire gamut of issues involved, will be unveiled by the government during the current session of the Assembly, said Minister for Mines and Geology KT Rama Rao.
After the formation of Telangana, a total of 489 mining leases were issued. The excavation in mines was being done in accordance with the rules, the Minister informed the Council on Thursday.
The TRS government had taken steps to arrest pilferages resulting in the revenue going up from Rs 482 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 915 crore in 2015-16. Replying to Karne Prabhakar (TRS), he said if any case of sub-leasing of mines was detected, the government would take strict action.
