HYDERABAD | Nov 25, 2016: The mining department has decided to raise to the occasion and tap additional revenues to help the exchequer.

Industries principal secretary Arvind Kumar asked mining officials to ensure that the revenue potential in their districts is realised to a maximum extent.

He also asked them to take concrete steps to prevent illegal mining in their respective districts. At a video conference with mining officials on Thursday, Kumar said that as per the directions of the industries minister KT Rama Rao, a transparent method of evaluating the performance of each officer was being prepared depending upon the potential of the district.
