Minister for Mineral resources Rajendra Shukla has said that, there is need to work on exploration of mineral sector. He said government departments will have to work along with private agencies. More and more minerals should be explored with increasing capacity. Mineral survey and auction should be carried out by chalking out plan.
Shukla was addressing the 50th meeting of State Geologists programme board in Bhopal. “To find out block for auction is challenging task but it is needed to do so. Finding minerals, the exploitation of minerals is needed for the development of the state,” he told.
He greeted Geological Survey of India for finding store of graphite in Betul. He said, it should be taken as resolution to utilize time with the pace.
Secretary, Mineral Sources, Manohar Dubey said that more and more survey and prospecting should be carried out in the interest of the state. Also, our work should be result-oriented. Director, Geology and Mining Vinit Austin informed that 10.9 million tonne graphite store is estimated in Betul. Detail survey is being made. Auction will be made soon for mineral block. Diamond composite block has been auctioned in licence form very recently by mining department. The process is underway for auctioning 4 lime stone storages in Dhar, Satna, Rewa districts. The process is also undergoing to open sub office of Indian Bureau of Mines by Government of India in Bhopal.
Officers of Geological Survey of India, National Mineral Development Corporation, Indian Bureau of Mining, Hindustan Copper Ltd, State Mining Corporation, Directorate of Geology and Mining were present in the meeting. The mining minister presented mementoes on the occasion.
