Date | Sept 22, 2016: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Odisha government to produce relevant files that give details about the iron ore-sharing arrangement between Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) and its long-term supplier within two months.
The bench also sought responses from the Centre and Odisha on various pleas filed by mining firms, including Essel Mining and Industries, seeking permission to resume operations in the state.
Odisha has challenged the state high court’s April order that allowed JSPL to lift 12 million tonne of iron ore material from Sarda Mines, whose mine is currently non-operational for want of clearances.
