Mr Om Prakash Singh assumes charge of Director (Technical) in MCL

 

Sambalpur | Sept 01, 2016: Mr Om Prakash Singh today took over the charge of Director (Technical) at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), an Odisha-based flagship subsidiary of Coal India Limited.

 

Mr A K Jha, Chairman & Managaing Directed, MCL, accompanied by Mr JP Singh, Director (Tech/P&P), Mr K K Parida, Director (Finance) and Mr L K Mishra, Director (Personnel), welcomed Mr Singh as 10thDirector (Techinical) to the company.

 

Mr Singh, a mining graduate from RavishankarUniversity (Raipur), has served at several important positions in South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) during his 33-year-long service in Coal India.

 

A holder of First Class Mine Manager’s certificate of competency under Mines Act and a post graduate in business adminsitration, Mr Singhhas a wide experience of mining , planning and implementation of mega coal mines as well as dealing with enviornment-related mining issues.

 

Mr Singh, who was the Area General Manager, Bhatgaon Area of SECL, before joining MCL as Director, said "Keeping in view the company’s targets, a planned production of coal in an eco-friendly manner with due regard to safety, conservation and quality will be my main focus"

 

Heads of various departments, General Managers, excecutives and employees representatives also greeted new Director (Technical) after he took over the charge.

 

MCL is a highest coal producing subsidiary that contributes 25 per cent to the total Coal India’s production. Having clocked 137.9 million tonne during the last financial year, the company aims at 250 million tonne production by 2020.
