Integrated checkposts to contain illegal transportation of goods

 

Khammam | Aug 16, 2016: In a bid to contain illegal transportation of essential commodities, the district administration has planned to set up integrated checkposts at all vantage points in the district. During a meeting held with the officials of the civil supplies, police, commercial tax, marketing and transport department here on Tuesday, Joint Collector D Divya stressed the need for intensifying the vigil on inter-district and inter-State illegal transportation of essential commodities.

 

She sought the coordination among various State departments.Expressing concern over rampant illegal transportation of sand, forest resources, minerals, ganja and black jaggery, the Joint Collector wanted to know the mode of vigil the existing checkposts were taking. Further, she instructed the officials to submit a detailed data of the checkpost officials and the issuing authority of way bills.

 

The checkpost authorities need to inform the details of the seized commodities to the police and the department concerned,” she said.Excise Department Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Babu.Additional SP Sai Krishna, DSP Suresh, Marketing AD Vinod, Assistant Supplies Officer A Laxman, Commercial Tax Officer Venkateswarlu, Mines Department Assistant Director K Narsimha Reddy and Motor Vehicle Inspector MV Srinivas Rao were among others present.
