Tata Steel received the prestigious 'JSPCB' award for the commendable work done in the area of environment protection and improvement.
The award was given on 'World Environment Day' at a seminar organised at BNR Hotel Chanakya, Ranchi. The theme of the seminar, organized by Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, was 'Environment Responsibility for Sustainable Development.' The dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. P P Bhojvaid- Director FRI, Dehradun, Dr H C Gupta, IFS, Director Jharkhand Tribal Development Society, Ranchi and Dr Satish Sinha, Indian Institute of Coal Management.
The award was presented by Mr A K Mishra, Chairman, Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB). Mr Satish Singh, Chief Resident Executive, Ranchi, Tata Steel and Mr Shubhanand Mukesh, Head, Environment, Tata Steel, Jamshedpur received the award on behalf of the Company.

The Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) is a statutory authority to ensure proper implementation of the statutes, judicial and legislative pronouncements related to environmental protection within the state of Jharkhand.
