Coal stockpiles at Indian power plants have dropped to a six-week low from a record in April as summer heat stokes electricity demand. Declining stockpiles will help Coal India Ltd., the world’s biggest producer, sell more to utilities and reverse the first year-on-year decline in 15 months, said Goutam Chakraborty, an analyst at Mumbai-based Emkay Global Financial Services.
