Panaji | May 19, 2016: The ministry of mines has decided to hold a state-level meeting of ministers in charge of mining departments, on Friday, May 27, in Goa, to discuss issues pertaining to illegal mining.
Preparedness for e-auction of major mineral blocks, setting up of the district mineral fund (DMF), status of collection and transfer of the money accrued in the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) funds under Section 9C of the amended Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act by the state government, minor mineral rules, schemes for mining plans and IT adoption for mineral administration are some of the other topics that will be discussed.
"A meeting with the ministers in charge of the mining departments of all state governments has been called by the Union minister of mines on key issues pertaining to the mining sector on May 27 at Goa," under-secretary to the government of India, A K Mallik, said in a letter to all states.
