GURGAON | May 04, 2016: The Haryana government has announced that about 60 per cent of mining blocks in the state have been made functional and government would soon allocate some new blocks through e-tendering.
"Mining had been discontinued in the state for the last about 10 years as a result of which people had to get construction material from other states on high prices. As the government is receiving approval concerning environment and other such aspects, mining blocks are being opened. Earlier mining tenders used to be floated for the entire district during the regime of previous government but the present government had completed the tender process by creating small blocks so as to ensure transparency in the entire procedure," said Haryana minister for mines and geology Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday.
