IES confers Udyog Rattan award on CMD MCL Mr A K Jha

 

Sambalpur | April 26, 2016: The Institute of Economic Studies (IES), New Delhi, has conferred Udyog Rattan award on Mr Anil Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), an Odisha-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited.On behalf of Mr Jha, the award was received by Mr R K Sinha, General Manager (IED), at a seminar on Economic Development in Goa recently.

 

Mr Jha, an M. Tech in mining engineering, has over 33 years of rich and diverse experience of mine planning, production, management supervision, direction and control of underground as well as open cast coal mines.

 

After taking over the reins of MCL on November 1, 2015, Mr Jha has ushered MCL to become the biggest coal producing company in the country by producing 137.9 million tonnes at a growth of 13.6% and supplying over 140 million tonnes of dry fuel at a growth of 14% to the consumers in the country during 2015-16.
