MCL releases Rs 16.52 crore for water schemes in Talcher in 1st phase

 

Sambalpur | March 01, 2016: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has released the first instalment of Rs 16.52 crore for two pipe water supply schemes for 35 villages of Talcher and Kaniha blocks of Angul district in Odisha

 

Rs 56.89 crore project has been sectioned by MCL under its popular Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to address the water scarcity in the peripheral villages in Talcher, the largest Coalfield in the country.

 

On behalf of Collector, Angul, the first installment cheque was received by Special Land Acquisition Officer Mr Magiram Pradhan from MCL General Manager (CSR) B B Mishra.

 

RWS&S, Division Angul, Govt of Odisha has been entrusted with the execution of these water supply schemes, which are scheduled to be completed in 24 months.

 

MCL, a leading coal mining subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, Government India, has its operations in Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Angul districts of Odisha.
