Raipur | Feb 23, 2016:The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has set iron ore pelletisation target of 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) in due course after its pelletisation project goes on stream in Dalli-Rajhara mines, when commissioned in Chhattisgarh, officials stated.
SAIL has already started setting up the beneficiation and pellet plant of the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) at Dalli-Rajhara mines in Chhattisgarh.The project is being assisted by public sector MECON Ltd for required works needed for the plant, officials stated.
Notably, the Dalli-Rajhara mines is one of the two principal sources of iron ore supply to the Bhilai Steel Plant.
Further, the initial stretch of the first phase of the ambitious 235-km-long Dalli-Rajhara-Rowghat-Jagdalpur Railway line project in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh has also been completed, officials stated.
The work of laying the railway track in 17 kms stretch between Dalli-Rajhra and Dondi had been completed.
A successful trial run of a Railway diesel engine was also carried out between Dallirajhara till Gudum village at the speed of 20 km per hour last year.
