Revenue officials seized nine units of sand hoarded near Kottakudi river here on Sunday.

The officials said that sand miners lifted the sand from the river and hoarded it in a nearby private farm to smuggle it to other areas later.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of officials raided the farm, seized the sand and handed it over to the officials of the Department of Mines.
