Sarda Mines winner at 25th annual flower, vegetable show

The three-day 25th Annual Flower and Vegetable Show concluded on January 10, 2015. More than 10000 people in and around Noamundi witnessed the show on all three days.

 

The fete had 25 stalls that showcased institutional display, handicraft, terracotta, art gallery, Prerna Mahila Samiti Group and CSR initiatives. Variety of flowers and vegetables like potted seasonal flower, perennial flower, potted fruits and vegetables, potted foliage plants, cacti and succulents, bonsai, cut flowers, bouquets and garlands, medicinal and aromatically plants were displayed.

 

Abu Bakar Siddique , Deputy Commissioner, West Singhbhum, Chaibasa, was the chief guest on the concluding day. In his address to the gathering, he said, ‘This is a very good forum for the local people and industries for encouraging the horticulture activities to make the environment better and congratulated Tata Steel for the 25 years’ Journey of this show.’

 

The exhibits by various flowers and vegetables by different mines, institutions, township members & local villagers around Noamundi / Joda as well as garden owners of Noamundi township were judged by Pramod Kumar, Scientist Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jagannathpur, Shantanu Kumar Nayak, Deputy Director, Horticulture – Keonjhar, and I V Shahi, GM – Horticulture & Agronomist, Kanpur.

 

The prize distribution ceremony was organized on the concluding day on January 10, 2016, wherein 125 prizes were given in different categories. Siddique gave way the prizes and the overall winner prize went to M/s Sarda Mines Pvt. Ltd.

 

The workshop on bonsai preparation and fine arts were also organized on the concluding day. M C Thomas, GM (OMQ), Tata Steel said, ‘We have tried to incorporate new initiatives this year as per the suggestions we received last year and from Jamshedpur Flower show and we’ll incorporate this years’ suggestion to make the next years’ program better and on large scale’.
