DIMAPUR | Dec 13, 2015: Green Succession of Nagaland State (Green-SONS) organized one-day workshop on “effective implementation of the Nagaland mining rules and policies” on December 11 at Menshangpen village under Wokha district, sponsored by department of Geology and Mining Nagaland.
The workshop topic was presented by mining engineer Wokha district incharge, T.Semy who gave a thorough illustration of the government mining rules and policies and the roles of the village councils. Earlier, SDO civil Sanis, Nchumbemo Ezung and joint director R. Nakhro also spoke and asked the people of the coal bearing villages to comply with the mining rules and policies of the government of Nagaland and also urged them to take all necessary precautionary measures to reduce maximum environmental hazards. The programme was chaired by Abenthung Shiteri, invocation prayer pronounced by Menshangpen Baptist Church Pastor Enithung Jami, welcome address by chairman MVC, Zanbenthung Jami and keynote address by chairman Green-SONS, Jess T Murry.
