Mining firm accused of denying labourers salaries

 

NALGONDA(Telangana) | Nov 05, 2015: Migrant labourers from Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha and from Telangana have lodged a complaint with State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) against their employer Sri Devi Minings Limited in Hyderabad on Wednesday accusing the employer of denying them salaries.

 

The workers alleged that the management of Sri Devi Mining, which is operating in Marriguda mandal in Nalgonda district, engaged 132 migrant labourers from these States, but denied four months’ salary to them which amounts to about Rs. 25 lakh. Senior Advocate, Chiliveru Srisailam, Representatives of National Adivasi Solidarity Council Ch.Vasu Devara Rao and K.Subhash have accompanied the workers to SHRC.
