KAKINADA | Sept 24, 2015: Accusing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of giving away the mineral resources of the State to Singapore corporates, the Kisan Cell of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee expressed apprehensions over the proposed bauxite mining in Visakhapatnam district.
Its State convener Satti Krishna Chaitanya Reddy, in a statement on Wednesday, said it was incorrect on the part of the government to invite international firms into bauxite mining ventures. “The mining in the State should be done by the APMDC alone and the government must ensure that livelihood and culture of tribals in the area would be protected,” he said.
