MOIL gets environmental clearance for opening new mine in Nagpur

 

Mumbai | Aug 17, 2015: MOIL has received environmental clearance from Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change for opening a new mine in Nagpur. As per the approved mining plan, total 5.27 lakh tonnes of total reserves and resources are expected. Further, production of about 40,000 tonnes per annum is expected from this area. The anticipated life of the mine based on the available, proven and probable resources, is 10 years.

 

MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi).
