The Institute of Cost Accountants of India has presented the Excellence Cost Management Award - 2014 to NLC in recognition of its cost control measures.

Rajyavardhan Rathore, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, presented the National Cost Management Award -2014 to B.Surender Mohan, CMD and Rakesh Kumar, Director/Finance, NLC at the 12th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management-2014 presentation ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday. A Navratna PSU, the NLC was incorporated in 1956 and is reckoned to house the largest open cast mines in Asia. Having pioneered power production using lignite, the NLC is aiming to foray into the renewable energy sector.
